Friday: My Community

 My Community

Each Friday I will be sharing what's going on in my small town and state.

Krotz springs Sportsman Heritage festival

town over from us is having a great festival that we will be at Saturday.  Enjoying the food and fun.  Featuring wild game cook off, carnival,  vendors and 5 k run.

In my town : Melville, Louisiana

the library  was the place to pick up Senior Food Boxes. The Catholic Charites once a month delivers boxes to our Seniors in need filled with some great items . Today I am sharing a simple cookie recipe made from this month's book.

This month's box contained Peanut Butter and Corn flakes - and this fun No bake recipe is easy to make . Perfect for snack or visitors dropping bye.... Lisa

  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 c light corn syrup
  • 1 c creamy peanut butter
  • 6 c Corn Flakes cereal

Instructions

  • Begin by placing a large sheet of wax paper on the countertop. Pour the Corn Flakes in a large bowl.
  • In a small saucepan, heat sugar and syrup on medium heat and stir frequently till the sugar dissolves. Be careful not to boil it. Remove from the heat and stir in the peanut butter.
  • Pour the sugar-syrup mixture over the Corn Flakes. Gently mix everything together until coated, being careful not to smash up the Corn Flakes.
  • Drop Corn Flakes mixture by the spoonful onto wax paper. They will only take a few minutes to set. To store, cover in an air tight container and leave at room temperature or the refrigerator so they don’t melt. That would be tragic.
