June flower : Roses

Welcome to my Home this June. Sis you know that Roses is the birth flower for June. The rose and the honeysuckle, two flowers reaching their peak during the sixth month of the year, have long been associated with June..

And I just add another Rose to my collection: Pink Knockout RosesI bought mine from the local Garden store for about $20 dollars. Which had a large collection to choose from. Lisa

Planting Knock Out Roses

  • Plant Knock Outs in spring or fall. They’ll have less risk of transplant shock when the temps are mild.
  • Pick a spot where your Knock Out roses will get 6 to 8 hours of sun per day. They can tolerate some shade but they bloom best in full sun.
  • Space them at least 3 feet apart.

How To Take Care Of Knock Out Roses

Full Sun

Double Knock Out roses are very easy to grow. Give the plants full sun in a garden ( need 6-8 hours) spot with fertile.

Well-drained soil and space them about four feet apart to allow good air circulation. To keep the blooms coming, fertilize your Double Knock Outs after every bloom cycle with any good rose fertilizer.

Pruning

To maintain a size of 3–4′ w x 3–4′ h, Knock Out® Roses should be cut back once a year to 12” high. Check your rose bush from time to time in late winter/early spring, and when you start to see new shoots growing from the canes on your rose bush, that’s a good sign that it’s time to prune

What color will I buy next?  I already have red and peach!
