Cannatella Green Bean and Artichoke casserole

  • medium onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp minced garlic
  •  lb fresh green beans, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • ½ cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 3 (14-oz) cans artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • 1 cup grated parmesan
  • dash cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  •  cup heavy cream
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (2.8-oz) can french fried onions


    • Preheat oven to 350ºF. Lightly spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
      • In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil. Add onion and cook until tender. Add garlic and cook 1 minute longer. Add fresh green beans and cook an additional 3 minutes.
      • Remove skillet from heat, add bread crumbs, artichoke hearts, parmesan cheese, cayenne, Italian seasoning, heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
        • Transfer mixture to prepared pan. Top casserole with french fried onions.
        • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
