DIY Winter Skin Creams recipes
Today in my kitchen I am making a couple of batches of skin lotions. My hubby and son have extremally dry skin and this works wonders in the cold dry winters.
- 3 ounces cold-pressed, unrefined coconut oil
- 15–20 drops lavender essential oil
- 1 ounce shea butter
- 1 ounce jojoba oil
- ½ teaspoon vitamin E oil
- Place ingredients into a mixing bowl. Blend all ingredients using a hand mixer until it is whipped to a light and fluffy consistency.
- Place in glass jar with lid and apply once or twice a day to the skin. If possible, apply to the skin while it is damp to help seal in moisture.
- Hand Lotion for dry skin
- ¼ cup coconut oil, virgin unrefined
- ¼ cup shea butter
- 6 drops lavender essential oil
- ⅛ teaspoon vitamin E oil
- 6 drops cedarwood essential oil
- In a small bowl combine ¼ cup of coconut oil, ¼ cup of shea butter, and ⅛ teaspoon of vitamin E oil. Using a hand mixer whip ingredients together for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Next, add 6 drops each of lavender and cedarwood essential oils.
- Whip once more with the hand mixer until you have a creamy consistency. Scoop the hand cream into an airtight container.
