King cake.. A Louisiana tradition this time of year. You can make your own or buy at local shops. Favorite flavor? Mines Barvarin cream stuffed inside.
Cajun, Mexican, Chinese, or Caribbean food.
This area is considered prairie area and home to zydeco music.
I've never heard of that cake! is that for Mardi Gras??! it's definitely bright colored!!
ReplyDeleteFun pics!!
Yes it is. Like a large cinnamon donut with icing
DeleteThat cake looks perfect for Mardi Gras. It's been lovely weather for walks this week. We've got some food truck parks here. They're nice to go to when it's warm enough to eat at the picnic tables--everyone can choose from what kind of food they like. There's a really good one that does "smash burgers."
ReplyDeleteThat last picture is so pretty.
We love smash burgers. And the weather been in 70 and 80 here perfect for walks.
DeleteI'm glad your weather warmed up enough to take walks in the nature preserve. We managed three outdoor walks this week (not today. It just snowed!)
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty cake. Does it taste as good as it looks?
That cake looks good and the sunset picture is very pretty. The path on that walk looks great - around here our paths are not smooth like that. My DIL travelled down to Louisiana (New Orleans) this weekend (she spent a year teaching there previously) to meet up with old friends. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteThat is a stunning picture of the church in the foreground of the sunset. Food trucks are fun. There is becoming more and more of them in my city and in the summer a lot of them are in one location on Friday nights. That King cake looks and delicious.
