All about Egg Knocking :
Families and communities gather at Easter to knock eggs. No, it isn’t a euphemism. It’s literal. The tradition of egg knocking (or pâquing after the French word for Easter, Pâques) occurs in small towns across Louisiana, and is something of a point of pride.
When two competitors agree to do battle, one person holds a hard-boiled egg, usually small, or pointed, end up, and the other taps it with the small end of his or her egg. The idea is for a competitor to crack the competition's egg without breaking his own.
