Dried flower Suncatcher

  • Clear glue, washable
  • Wooden Leaf & Flower Press
  • Waxed paper or silicone baking sheet
  • Dried or fresh florals, leaves or other botanicals

To start, place your wax paper or silicone baking sheet down on a flat surface. Grab your glue and create your shape of choice.

The size is up to you, but keep in mind that handling gets more difficult the larger the sun catcher.

You'll want your layer of glue thin, but not so thin that you have holes in your design. 1/4-1/3 of an inch should be the perfect thickness.

Add floral elements, creating a fun design or pattern. Once your design is done let it sit to dry. The perfect amount of dry is when there is still a bit of tackiness in the back of the middle. That way you can just stick it right to the window without the addition of more glue or a hook.

Very carefully remove the wax paper or mat, stick it on a sunny window and admire your beautiful art!

Lemon meringue pie

  • Preheats Oven to 350 degrees
  • To Make Lemon Filling: In a medium
  • saucepan, whisk together 1 cup sugar, flour, cornstarch, and salt. Stir in water, lemon juice and lemon zest. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until mixture comes to a boil. Stir in butter. Place egg yolks in a small bowl and gradually whisk in 1/2 cup of hot sugar mixture. Whisk egg yolk mixture back into remaining sugar mixture. Bring to a boil and continue to cook while stirring constantly until thick. Remove from heat. Pour filling into baked pastry shell.
  • To Make Meringue:
  • In a large glass or metal bowl, whip egg whites until foamy. Add sugar gradually, and continue to whip until stiff peaks form. Spread meringue over pie, sealing the edges at the crust.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until meringue is golden brown.

Paper Sunflower

It's Free Friday and I am playing with paper and cardboard

Sunflower  holder with bookmark
Free cut Sunflower  , then  glued on a  small cardboard box , painted blue. This makes a great holders for clips and small desk items.
The bookmark is made from the same paper torn in strips.  On a card base and yarn tassel.

Sunflower quilt block

This Sunflower quilt block center has a  fussy cut flower center.  The block cut from 1/2square triangles in flower paper that I used for all three items.  On a square of cardboard.

Sunday message

 Bible Journaling...

In my weekly Bible class I get lots of questions about Journaling in a Bible and what can be used instead.

This Bible journal is in a simple notebook or  journal book. Using paper,  stickers and printed verse. Making for a stunning page.
Bible Journaling doesn't need to be complicated.  Use basic supplies and enjoy your time with The Lord.

Grow Where planted

Grow where you are planted.
Is today bible journaling:

Gensis 1 : 28
Grow where you are planted quote Is not an exacat quote from the Bible verse but the meaning is similiar.  To  grow and multiply after planting the seeds of life and hope.

This page uses a regular Bible.  And I stamped this favorite Unity Stamp on my page in black . Then I colored it in with marks.

Tip.....
Make sure before adding stamp place a piece of paper or plastic behind the page, to stop bleeding through to next page.

After painting the white paper plate yellow, let dry. Then cut with scissors around edges to make petals.  Then add glue to center and add sunflower seeds for a sensory feel. Add stem with a green painted paper towel roll.
