Summer Bbq with Uncle Lenard 

our favorite Pit Master in town and an awsome BBQ sauce you can make and give as a gift ! Let's Get Grilling.... 

Uncle Lenard's sauce: 

• 1/2 cup ketchup
• 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
• 2 tablespoons brown sugar
• 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon pepper

• Heat up and blend. Use on meats and add to beans.

Happy Veterans Day

 

Happy Veterans Day ! 

Veterans Day was originally called Armistice Day

Celebrated every November, Veterans Day honors all who have served in the U.S. military. The federal holiday is observed on Nov. 11, the day World War I ended in 1918.

Give Veterans an opportunity to tell their stories. Respect Veterans' service, their feelings, and any suggestions they might offer. Thank Veterans for their service to our country. When approaching Veterans for their participation, consider bringing another Veteran with you

The Catholic Church does this tour every year with help from our local little theater to raise money to take care of the cemetery.  Many of the graves date back to the founding of the town.

I am making an 8 by 8 page  travel album to Maine.

  I am using a Summer,  beach Scrapbook pack I bought at Hobby Lobby.  That included paper, stickers and clip art. 

To highlight my lighthouse picture.  .

I used an Included frame and covered it with a map of the Maine coast. 

8 by 8 is the perfect size for a travel album it can be made quick and easy when using a  themed paper pack.

I am including a copy of a handwritten recipes and pictures of my Grandmother and parents in the kitchen. Now all I have too do to finish is glue if down. 

 I am so lucky to come from a family of great cooks. And many of my family memories are tied too food.

What is the purpose of zoos and why are they important?

Today, zoos are meant to entertain and educate the public but have a strong emphasis on scientific research and species conservation. There is a trend toward giving animals more space and recreating natural habitats. Zoos are usually regulated and inspected by the government

My son growing up loved the Zoo and we made lots of visits to meet the animals. Our local Zoo is building a new habitat for the giraffes. 

You can help to build Zoosiana's new Giraffe Center! We have dedicated a large, green pasture on the north side of the zoo as the new habitat for our giraffe family. This new habitat requires a new barn and additional infrastructure to accommodate the giraffe family and future calves. After a visit to the Zoo it inspired me to make some cards and tags using The Wild Thing collection. One simple stamp can be used in many different ways. 

St Patrick Day Scrapbook

 

St. Patrick was a 5th-century missionary to Ireland and later served as bishop there. He is credited with bringing Christianity to parts of Ireland and was probably partly responsible for the Christianization of the Picts and Anglo-Saxons. He is one of the patron saints of Ireland.

The day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, and celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general. Celebrations generally involve public parades and festivals, céilís, and the wearing of green attire or shamrocks.

My project for Valentines is a picture frame and gift bag. All using scrapbook paper.

Scrapbook paper 

Cardboard, glue,stickers 

Cover frame with glue and cover with scrapbook paper. Cut center and fold in and glue down. 

Cut heart out of cardboard.  Cover with paper. And add stickers. Glue to frame. 

My gift bag

My paper bag is covered in scrapbook paper. I added this fun folded heart and tag. The heart pocket can hold a gift card or small gift or message from a love one. 

Scrapbook paper can be used for many other things then just  scrapbooking.  Hope this project inspired you to be creative.  Lisa

A major tradition involves lighting firecrackers, originating from the legend of the monster Nian.
