At Home

The Heat has been brutal but my Zinnias are still blooming.  This morning an easy breakfast of cinnamon bread i made yesterday and coffee. And I am watching Murder She Wrote while  writing my post , making my chore list and planning meals for the week. Its almost to hot to cook and eat much and the air conditioner is working overtime. So  Stay hydrated and Cool this week.

Outside my window

Can zinnias handle extreme heat?
Zinnias are well-known annuals that can take the heat. They are prolific, blooming all summer, and will flourish.

Meal Plans:
To stay cool I am cooking early, using my crockpot for meals or grilling outside
  • white beans ,rice,ham
  • jambalayas
  • hamburgers on grill
  • Crockpot Ravioli
  • Shrimp Creole
Peanut Butter Ice Cream pie

Today is National ice cream pie . Try my recipe on my blog perfect for the heat..

Community Updates :

The town is  known for its rich history as a former French trading post and steamboat port, and a large portion of the town is part of the National Historic Registry

  3. Zinnias are really amazing! My lilies were not blooming well this year, so I planted a few different seeds along them and the zinnias are the only one that came up, but they keep coming and now they are flourishing! I'm so excited to see them! I hope you have an amazing week!
