This fun project starts in my backyard. Where I have tons of pinecones that I turn into firstarter for my fire pit and grill.
It's a great way to recycle old candles into something new!
- Pinecones
- Wax ( Bees wax pellets is best but you can recycle old soy candles)
- Can to melt wax in : too make your double boiler.
- string, for dipping and Salt
- My yard has a tons of Pine cones – so gather some large ones.Let dry out if wet. And tie a strong on to them for handles for dipping in wax.
- Melt some wax : Paraffin, bees wax or you can recycle some wax you have from old candles . And add old Crayons for colors.
- Dip candles in wax , wait a few minutes and dip in wax again to cover your Pine cones. If you need more coverage spoon into spots needing coverage.
- and let dry in metal cupcake pan or on parchment paper.
- Sprinkle with salt as they dry.
The added Salt makes the Sparks shine. Table salt : Yellow and Epson White
