DIY Citronella Candle

Memorial Day : Start of Summer

And that means spending time outdoors eating and enjoying the weather. Make afew of these and enjoy eating  outside. Lisa

Supplies + Tools
  • scissor
  • Glass measuring cup
  • Mason jars
  • pre-made wicks
  • sturdy tape or hot glue
  • soy wax
  • citronella oil (look for essential oil)
Select canning jars of any shape or size to house your citronella candles. Start by anchoring a wick to the bottom of each jar using sturdy tape or hot glue. Then measure and melt your wax gradually in a glass measuring cup in the microwave ( at 30 seconds at time ) until liquid.
Stir in citronella oil, adding roughly three drops per cup of wax. Pour wax into prepared jars and use pencils or some of the hundreds of leftover chopsticks you can’t seem to throw away to keep the wicks centered in the jar. Cut Wicks to size and light candle to enjoy.
