Happy Friday Friends

Happy Friday and I'm glad to welcome you to my blog. The week has been pretty quiet in our little town. But I'm always thankful for another week with you my readers.

South Louisiana had a lot of flooding from the first hurricane 🌀 of the season. But we had no damage or flooding. Some of our neighboring communities was not so lucky.

The heat has been in the high 90 with humidity it feels like over 100 degrees. The air conditioner is running. Trying to stay cool.

I'm always thankful for our group of volunteers. We help at the food truck hand out , do summer free  kids meals and visit the elderly . Our town sbut ins received free fans this week.

Local library Summer Reading program is a great spot for reading and watching movies with the family. I thank our town sponsors for prizes for meeting reading goals.

Free vegetables from our neighbors his large garden is coming in . Zucchini bread is in the future as well as cucumber and melon salad. Extra cucumbers will become homemade pickles.

  1. How wonderful that the home bound people received free fans. I assumed every one living in the south had central air!!

    1. Most do but lots of the elderly use fans because of the price of electricity if on a fixed budget. Fans are cheaper to use.

We've had such high temperatures and humidity, too, AC is a modern blessing. And the fans too.

  5. I am so thankful for AC, too. I would be in trouble without it. That's a neat project to take fans to shut ins. Sounds like a great group of volunteers. We're blessed by a neighbor's garden extras, too.
