Book Review 

I enjoyed the first book in this series. The main character, her best friend Lucy, and the handsome detective are all characters who are easy to like. The touch of a grieving widow trying to help others is an unusual element. I appreciated the relationship Allie has with her children. Funniest part was her son's reason for hoping that she wouldn't go to prison. I figured out fairly quickly whodunit, but I will NOT give any more clues. I Don't want to spoil your fun.

My Book Pick : 

Well-written and cute cozy mystery. The characters are nice, the pacing was good, and there was some mystery with a dash of suspense. The ending of catching the killer was a bit anticlimactic, but no more than that of a Hallmark show or movie. Which is what this book reminded me of. It was on target for it's genre, and I would readily read the next in series.

Meanwhile, it is October and the inn is hosting Halloween themed events. The haunted weekends are just for fun but when guests report hearing noises in the hallway, Abby wonders if the inn might actually be haunted for real.

Haunting in the Hallway is the fifth book in Kathi Daley’s awesome The Inn at Holiday Bay series. The writing style flows smoothly, and the book is a clean and easy read. The storyline is well-plotted and complex, with lots of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged and guessing. The setting is charming, and the well-developed characters are affable, compassionate, and caring. I highly recommend this series to readers who enjoy well-crafted cozy mysteries.
