Today's home project 

Mug candle DIY 

I have collected a bunch  of coffee mugs that  iam turning into candles. You could use a team mug or Christmas Mugs but I grab these at the thrift store.

I measured out wax chips in one to test out amount of wax I needed . Then I started creating.  Put wicks into Mugs with glue dots. Melt the wax chips in microwave add color. Then let cool slightly and add fragrance.

Tip : easy way to get started in candle making is with a kit. I grabbed mine on sale at hobby lobby. It has everything you need to get started. Lisa 

Diy Sea Shell candles

Seashells candles

Large clean sea shell 

Wick,glue dot ( hobby lobby)

 wax , fragrance  ( hobby lobby) 

If Using your collected shells make sure they are clean

Place wick in middle with glue dot. 

Melt soy wax and added beach fragrance. 

Beach fragrance: pineapple, coconut, beach 

 Pour into shell. Let harden. 

Tips for shells...

You can use shells your family has collected or buy them.

I bought some at Walmart online but Amazon, Hobby lobby or Temu is an option 

4th July lights

It's July 4th candle

you will need 

Mason jar 

Flags (dollar tree)

Modge podge 

Battery operated tea light or candle. 

 Clean jar, separate the flag from stick. cover back of flagwith Modge podge. Add a coat of modge podge on top to seal. Add tie.

Using star  stickers and ribbon with battery tea lights from DG. 

Candles 

You can use white pillar candles or battery operated candles. And then use patriotic wasabi tape to decorate.

Book Review 

The beginning was a little slow, but once the intricacies of the mystery came into play then it became a whole other ball game. The layers to this mystery was great and kept me on toes. After a while I needed to know what was going to happen next, so I kept on trucking through. Despite the fact I guessed who it was by the middle, it was still interesting as the puzzle pieces came together. There were just so many connections that I didn’t see coming, but they totally made sense. It became this really satisfying ending by book’s end as the past and present came together and completed the picture. I loved that.

Do you love coffee? Or maybe a friend does?

Coffee fragrance oil 

Coffee beans

Clean canning jar. Add glue dot and wick. Melt wax ,let cool slightly,vadd coffee fragrance and coffee beans. Stir and  Pour into jar , making sure wick is straight.  And let candle firm up. 

Coffee Air freshener 

The molds are available from Amazon ,Hobby Lobby and Temu. I have also used silcon candy molds from Walmart.  

Melt wax ,add fragrance and pour into mold. Add coffee beans and spices and let harden . Add hanger and tag. 

Diy Pumpkin Spice candles

Fall is perfect time for candle 

Glass container ,wick glue dot

Soy wax

Orange crayon 

1 tsp Pumpkin spices, nutmeg, cinnamon 

Use a clean class container, fix wick with glue dot. Make sure it is straight.  Melt wax ,add color and spices.  Pour in container and let set up.

Happy Valentines Day! 

This Friday I am upcyceling some old books into a fun decorated Valentines decor piece.  These books I rescued from the dump. So no books harmed in this post.

3 books I painted with white chalk paint.  Then I painted one book pink and one read. And I added  black paint with  stencil on the book,  I love you. Then wrapped with ribbon and heart tag

Pucker up Pink

I love making homemade candle from old  glass canning jars. This one is with colored pink wax I recycled and added rose 🌹 fragrance.  Then tied with ribbon and black heart chalk tag.

Welcome to Tea time Tuesday on my blog. 

Today since it's chili and wet we are sitting around the kitchen table and catching up with what's going on.

In the Garden.   

It might not look like much but my Spring bulbs are coming up in my memory garden.  Spring is around the corner.

My Mom helped start the community library. And my family volunteer at the library.  

What I picked up at our library :

INCLUDES RECIPES AND TEA TIME TIPS!

Tea time recipe :  Earl Grey Shortbread cookies 

• 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
• 2 tablespoons Earl Grey tea leaves
• ½ cup powdered sugar
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• ½ tsp salt

• Blend the butter and earl grey tea leaves together and allow to sit at room temperature for at least 2 hours, longer is fine. If you are running short on time, this step can be skipped and the tea can be added with the powdered sugar. Just note that the flavor may not be as strong.
• Once the butter has finished setting. Preheat oven to 350­° F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
• Cream the butter and tea mixture and powdered sugar in a large bowl or stand mixer.
• Add in the flour and salt. Continue to mix until a soft dough forms. The mix will be dry and crumbly at first but will come together.
• Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface until it's 1/4-inch thick.
• Cut out cookies using a 2-inch round cookie cutter.
• Bake on a parchment lined baking sheet for 12 to 15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown in color.

My Tea Project: Tea Cup Candle 

Tea Cup candles.   

I pick up Tea cups at our local thrift store and repurpuse them into candles. By adding a wick, wax and color . These make great gifts for the holidays.
