 My 4th July Hanger !

  • $1 store: slate wood plaque
  • red,white, blue paint
  • star stickers
  • brown stamp pad
I purchased the wood slate plaque from the dollar tree. I tapped off and  painted the blue corner.  And then i painted red and white slates. After drying i added star stickers. and edged the plaque with the brown stamp pad. To give it an  antique finish.  Seal it with clear finish so I could use outside on my door.

Perfect for my front door for 4th of July! ....Lisa

Ps I you can't find curvy plaque you can use a heart or square plaque.

  • Chill 3 to 4 hours and top with whipped cream. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

What Is a Poke Cake?

Poke-and-pour cake (also called poke cake) is a cake recipe that calls for holes to be poked in it after baking, usually with the handle of a wooden spoon or a wooden skewer. Then a liquid is poured over the baked cake to soak into the cake holes. Poke cakes are known for being incredibly moist (thanks to the liquid) and delicious (because of the extra filling).

Death of an Ice Cream Scooper

Death of an Ice Cream Scooper

Apparently, the mouthwatering new ice cream flavors on the menu in coastal Bar Harbor, Maine, are really just to die for . . .

Food and cocktails columnist Hayley Powell doesn’t know what to believe when Lydia Partridge, the put-together owner of gourmet Bar Harbor Ice Cream, suddenly reveals fears that her husband may be having an affair. There’s no other way to explain why Jamie, a respected professor, was spotted in a remote part of town with a much younger woman. But instead of learning the truth about the secret meeting, Lydia opens her freezer truck to find another surprise—the dead body of a summer employee . . .

The shock continues as photographic evidence proves Jamie was spending time off campus with the victim, one of his students. Now, Lydia desperately needs Hayley to discover if Jamie really is a cheater—and, worse, a ruthless killer. With her own complicated family issues to address, can Hayley make sense of a popular college girl’s love life and out the true culprit before the case, or another person, goes cold?

Includes delectable recipes from Hayley’s kitchen!

Book Review:

DEATH OF AN ICE CREAM SCOOPER is the fifteenth book in the Hayley Powell Mysteries by Lee Hollis. With humorous repartee, memorable characters—both human and animal alike, and a fast-moving plot, it’s no wonder this has been an enduring and endearing series. Just when I thought this series couldn’t get any better, the brother-sister author duo strikes again and has hit this newest release out of the ballpark

DIY Clothespin Wreath : July 4th

Happy July 1st! And the 4th is Thursday in USA.

I will be celebrating with special Patrotic crafts until Thursday.  😉

Supply List:

Gather the following supplies:

  • One 12-inch box wreath frame
  • 64-100 clothespins (The number of clothespins will depend on the size of your wreath. Our 12″ wreath used 64 clothespins.)
  • Red, white and blue spray paint
  • 10 wooden stars
  • White craft paint
  • Foam paint brushes
  • Rubber gloves
  • Hot glue gun
  • String or ribbon for hanging the finished wreath

You can buy your supplies at the local dollar store or big box store. Or use what you have. Spray paint the clothespins red, white and blue. …

Now Spray paint your clothespins and stars:

One method is taking 3 old boxes and clipping each color on a box and spray and let dry. Or your can clip them to a line and spray them one at a time, Make sure it’s a calm day – and let dry.

Spray paint the wreath frame red, white or blue. …

Paint the small wooden stars white. …

Let Dry Completely.

Clip Dried Clothespin to wreath:

Once all the pieces are fully dry, begin assembling the wreath.

Start by clipping one pin to the two center “bars”, or bar two and three of the frame. Then place the next pin on the two bars closest to the center of the frame, or bars three and four.

Make sure to alternate between red and white for the “stripes” and then add a section of blue clothespins where the stars go.

After everything is in place – hot glue the clothes pins in place and Glue the Stars on. Add a hanger and Enjoy your New Wreath…. Lisa
