Mason jar Snow Globe

How to Make a Mason Jar Snow Globe

Supplies Needed

  • Mason jar
  • Protective gloves (optional)
  • Glitter spray paint
  • Waterproof craft glue, such as Amazing Goop
  • Small white floral foam ball
  • Crafts knife
  • Assorted winter figurines and trees or laminated photos
  • Glitter
  • Spray adhesive
  • Distilled water
  • Glycerin
  • Remove lid from the glass jar. Separate the two parts of the lid and set face-up on a flat surface. Spray the lid pieces with glitter spray paint. Once the spray paint is dry, glue the two pieces of the lid together with waterproof glue. This will prevent leaking from your Mason jar snow globe. Let the glue dry . Cut a small white foam ball in half, then partially remove the top so both surfaces are flat and the edges are rounded. Make sure the diameter of the foam piece is small enough that you can still screw the lid on. Use waterproof glue to attach the foam inside the lid and let dry. This will bump up figurines and trees inside the Mason jar snow glob.  Add glitter to figurines, trees, or photo edges with spray adhesive and loose glitter. Simply spray the items and sprinkle glitter over the top, twisting the object to cover all sides. Using waterproof glue, attach the miniatures or photos to the foam on the inside of the Mason jar lid. Let dry overnight. Fill your Mason jar with distilled water, glitter, and a few drops of glycerin. Glycerin is what suspends the glitter in the water, creating the magical snow-like effect. It also acts as a preservative to keep your figurines intact Before topping jar with lid, place waterproof glue around the rim of the Mason jar. Place the lid on the jar and screw the cap on tightly. Let the assembled Mason jar snow globe dry upside down overnight. After it is dry, turn it right side up, shake, and enjoy!

Apple Cinnamon Muffins

Apple Cinnamon Muffins

  • 1/2 cup packed (light) brown sugar
    • 1 large egg
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 large firm apple, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, peeled and cut into large chunks
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
    • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom (optional)
    • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
    • Baking cups or nonstick spray
    1. Heat the oven to 350˚F.
    2. Whisk the sugar, egg, and vanilla in a bowl until smooth. Grate the apple (or dice with a knife) and stir into the sugar mixture. Add in the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and cardamom (if using), and stir until almost fully combined. Lastly, stir in the cooled melted butter until fully combined.
    3. Place the baking cups in a muffin tin or coat with nonstick spray. Divide the batter into the tin for 6 (or so) muffins. Bake in the middle rack of the oven until a toothpick or cake tester inserted into the middle of a muffin comes out clean or with just a few crumbs, 20 to 22 minutes. Let cool slightly before serving. To store, let cool completely and keep in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days.

    Hello to You

    Hello to You

    Tuesday Card time

It's Tuesday at my Home and I'm making some cards to giveaway.
I made these with a Simple Stories card kit full of country charm.

    Hooray for Hollywood88

Hello and welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.

Hollywood magic is well named. In Druidism the holly and it's wood were used in magic. Magic wands were often made of holly wood.   Lightning will not strike holly so it is often planted next to homes to protect it. The word holly comes from the word holy and the holly tree was sacred in times past.  Today Hollywood still churns out 'magic' and 'spellbinding' displays as well as 'stars in the firmament' who entertain, mesmerize and influence us.

    Let's talk about it....

    1.  Do you have a few favorite holiday movies you enjoy watching year after year? Do you make some popcorn to eat while you watch movies at home?

Elf, +Home Alone , Rush hour

    2.  Have you had a celebrity crush? Can we ask who it was? No not really.

    3.  Do you have  favorite actors/actresses whose movies you don't want to miss and what movie would you say is your all time favorite from those stars?

    not amovie fan

    4. Ha ve you met any famous Hollywood people in person or would you like to?     Why or why not?

No, No i wouldnot  Leave the mystery to me.
