Fall Traditons & Memories

Welcome to another Tuesday 4 a fun meme started by Toni Taddeo.

It is Halloween , all Hallows Eve and tomorrow is All Saint's Day. Originally these days were to remember the deaths of Christian martyrs but things have certainly changed and the dark, the scary and remnant of Samhain (So-Win) have been introduced.

 1.  What is your opinion of Halloween?

Great fun to decorate and craft. But we dont go wild for the holiday.

2.  Memories are important. Some of them are seasonal good times.  What fall memories and traditions can you share with us?

Fall Corn Boil, Fall Bonfire, Fall Festival, Hunted House

3. Stews, soups and chili dishes warm the tummy on chilly fall days. Have you a good recipe to share for a good fall dish?

My favorite time too cook. Check out my recipes

4. Fall is football season. Are you a fan of any teams? Do you watch games>

Local College ball , Saints. Sometimes but not regular.

  • 1 can Crescent rool
  • 1 package of hot dogs
  • Americana cheese
Using Crescent rolls: Unroll dough; separate at perforations, creating 4 rectangles. Press perforations to seal. If using dough sheet: Unroll dough; cut into 4 rectangles. With knife or kitchen scissors, cut each rectangle lengthwise into 10 pieces, making a total of 40 pieces of dough. Slice cheese slices into quarters (1/2 slice cheese, cut in half).

Wrap 4 pieces of dough around each hot dog and 1/4 slice of cheese to look like "bandages," stretching dough slightly to completely cover hot dog. About 1/2 inch from one end of each hot dog, separate "bandages" so hot dog shows through for "face." On ungreased large cookie sheet, place wrapped hot dogs (cheese side down); spray dough lightly with cooking spray.

Bake 13 to 17 minutes or until dough is light golden brown and hot dogs are hot. With mustard, draw features on "face."

Town in a Pumpkin Bash

 Coffee and Cozy Mystery

Town in a Pumpkin Bash: A Candy Holliday Murder Mystery

In the quaint seaside village of Cape Willington, Maine, Candy Holliday has a mostly idyllic life, tending to the Blueberry Acres farm she runs with her father and occasionally stepping in to solve a murder or two…

Halloween is fast approaching, and preparations for the Pumpkin Bash, Cape Willington’s annual autumn festival, are well underway. Candy is running this year’s haunted hayride, in the hopes of making some extra cash. But when she discovers a real dead body near some fake tombstones, Candy’s side job becomes a full-blown investigation to find out who turned a holiday attraction into a real horror show.

Will Candy’s keen eye for detail unearth buried town secrets? As her search leads her through old graveyards and a haunted house, Candy will discover that not all of the skeletons hidden in this small town’s closets are Halloween decorations…

INCLUDES DELICIOUS RECIPES!

Book Review:

I love all of the books in this series. This had a great fall/Halloween setting. You'll find pumpkin patches, costume parties, a biggest pumpkin contest and a cemetery tour! It's fun to read about Candy, Maggie, Candy's father and the gang again. I don't normally recommend reading a cozy mystery series in order but I think you would enjoy this book more if you had read the 1st three. There were twists and turns that kept me in suspense. I really liked the sub plot and how it was tied in to past books in this series. It really sets up an interesting scenario for the next book. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.
